Got that festive feeling? Well try these 5 Christmassy Yoga poses that will keep you in the festive spirit, and will also get your body moving if you have over indulged this holiday.
Tree Pose
Stand tall and proud like your beautiful Christmas Tree.
This pose helps to calm the mind as it is a balance which requires concentration and focus.
Dancer Pose
“On the 9th day of Christmas my true love gave to me, nine ladies dancing’.
Dancer pose opens the hips and is another balance which calms the mind.
Wheel Pose
“On the 5th day of Christmas my true love gave to me, five gold rings’.
Wheel pose represents the shape of a ring. This is a very strong back bend and strengthens the legs and shoulder and arm muscles. Use Bridge pose as an alternative.
Camel Pose
Camels are an iconic feature of the Christmas story as the Three Wise Man traveled to Bethlehem to meet the baby Jesus on camels.
Camel pose is a great heart opener and a lovely back bend.
Star Pose
The Shepherds and Wise Men followed the star to bring them to the place Jesus was born. Many of us have beautiful stars at the top of our trees.
This pose strengthens the arms, legs and core and improves balance.
