Pitta Pizzas – Healthy alternative to pizza

In need of a quick, healthy meal or snack? Check out how to make my Pitta Pizzas below that use fresh, tasty ingredients and are easily customised to your taste.

Making these Pittas is as easy as 1,2,3!


  • Whole meal pitta
  • Tomato Puree
  • Mozzarella
  • Fresh vegetables of your choice
  • 1 free range egg (optional)
  • Vegetarian pesto (optional)


1. Toast the pitta bread for around 2 minutes and chop up the veggies of your choice.

2.Spread a thin layer of tomato puree onto the pitta and place the remaining ingredients evenly on top. If you are adding spinach to your pizza, do not add this yet. Be sure to place the mozzarella on last.

4. Place the pitta pizzas under the grill and allow to cook for about 5 minutes, or until the mozerealla has melted. If you are adding spinach, take the pizzas out, sprinkle on the spinach and then put back in for a couple of minutes.

While the pizzas are cooking, cook an egg (the one below has been poached) and then add to the top of the pizza once it comes out from the grill.
