18 Oct Yoga For Core Strength – Video
Try these simple poses to help build core strength and develop strong abdominals.
Core strength is really important in yoga, not only for helping you to go further in the poses, but to also protect your lower back.
Asanas such as balances and inversions all require core strength to help keep you firmly in place. A strong core helps to keep you balanced and to keep your safe and firm in the pose.
Not only this, but by engaging your core, you are helping to protect your lower back. When you are in a pose such as plank, if you don’t maintain strength through the core, you begin to sag into the lower back which over time will cause pulling and then post-yoga back pain!
Try this yoga sequence to build up your abdominal muscles to help balance better, feel stronger and protect your lower back. I guarantee you will feel your abs working by the end of this!!
