Om Yoga Show 2015 – My Purchases

This year I was so excited to go to the Om Yoga Show and I filmed my day for you on my YouTube channel – find below. Here are some of the items I purchased from the show and my overall impression of the day.

Om Yoga Show - Alexandra Palace

This year’s Om Yoga Show seemed bigger and better before as it was being held in Alexandra Palace for the first time ever. Since the last time I attended back in 2012, I have become a lot more involved with Social Media such as Instagram and Twitter which meant that I was a lot more aware of the traders that would be attending this years show. This meant that I had a good idea of the things that I wanted to see, in particular, my FAVOURITE yogi of all time – Tara Stiles!

2012 – First time I met Tara.

The first class I attended was titled ‘STRONG’ and it did not fail to disappoint! It was jam packed with fun, adventurous vinyasa yoga that had the true Tara spirit stamped right through it. I was in a hall of over 300 people, yet Tara made it round to so many people to adjust them, help them into poses or spend some time chatting in plank pose, like she did with me!

The next class was more intimate as it was a class just for teachers and ‘seasoned practitioners’. This class was titled ‘ENERGIZE’ and was similar to the STRONG in that it had lovely Vinyasa flow throughout but was slightly shorter. What I love about Tara’s classes is that she makes some of the most daunting poses seems so non-threatening and something you can ease into if you feel like it, if not, no problems. In this class Tara helped me into a handstand and a forearm balance. She gracefully caught my leg and held me with the lightest feather touch until I was ready to come down and ease myself into Downward Facing Dog.

2015 – Post class book signing.

During the times that I wasn’t in Yoga classes, I managed to zoom round the stands to have a look at some of the amazing yoga accessories available to offer. Here are some of my favourite purchases from the day:

Tara’s pre-released Recipe Book

After the last class Tara informed us that ‘Hay House’ her publishing company had given her some recipe books for people at the Yoga Show to purchase before the book had even been released! I was so excited by this news as I had earlier that day got her to sign her last book ‘Make your own rules diet’ and was waiting for the new one to be released! So after the class we headed to the Yoga Alliance stand to purchase the book…

ToeSox – Socks and Gloves

I was on the mission to find some yoga gloves and socks as I have an exciting event coming up that require socks and gloves rather than a mat. I can’t wait to try these gloves out as I have never used them before. These will be great for yoga outdoors and when you only have a few minutes or limited space!

ToeSox

The socks came in so many gorgeous patterns, styles and designs that is was so hard for me to settle on one pair but I specifically chose these because they cover my toes (keep my feet warm), they come just to the ankle and are pink (to match my gloves, of course!).

Posto9 – Sports Bra and Headband

I had not heard of this sportswear brand before but was drawn into their stand by the beautiful array of colours and patterns of their yoga clothes and accessories. I came across this gorgeous sports bra. Even though there were so many bright and wonderful colours to choose from, I went for the black as I felt it would go perfectly under any sports top (although it’s so lovely, I may even have to wear it under normal clothes!).

I also came across an array of bright headbands and decided to purchase one for when I am getting sweaty during Yoga sessions and need my hair to stay off my face.

Love Your Blender – Smoothie Mixes

For those of you who follow me on social media, you will know I LOVE my smoothies and have one everyday! I was so excited to finally meet the lovely people of ‘Love Your Blender’ as I had seen a lot about them on Instagram. When I arrived at their stand they couldn’t have been more helpful! First off, they offered me a choice of two different smoothie mixes to try and while I slurped away, they explained all about their product and how it worked.

Love Your Blender

The basic idea behind ‘Love Your Blender’ is that they take all the hard work out of smoothies and superfoods. All you do is add your fruit and your liquid, then choose one of their blends to add to the smoothie and away you go. Each variety has different superfood’s in that have a different taste and benefit to them! Not only this, but to make it EVEN easier for you, on the inside of the packet is a recipe, so you know exactly what fruit and liquid will go best with that sachet – AMAZING!

Love Your Blender

I loved the idea and decided to get one for a friend who is relatively new to smoothie making for her birthday. As my friend is pregnant, the people of ‘Love Your Blender’ were very helpful in informing me of the sachet that would not be suitable for her (due to the Green Tea content) and allowed me to select an alternative one I thought she would prefer, popping the extra Green Tea one in my  bag! Her set came in this gorgeous box which she can open on her birthday!

I obviously couldn’t resist buying one for myself, so I will let you know how they taste and what I decided to mix them with!
