22 Sep Yoga for Beginners
Try this ‘yoga for beginners’ sequence that takes you through a range of gentle poses to help relax the mind and body.
I have been lucky enough to be able to teach a Beginners Yoga class for the past two weeks and I have really enjoyed it. There is something really exciting about teaching students who are just beginning their yoga journey. I feel a great responsibility to teach them well and to give them the tips and tricks they need to tackle any class they choose when they move on from beginners yoga.
Enjoy being a beginner
I love this quote about being a beginner:
To me being a beginner is really exciting. It means that you can take your time, be curious, make mistakes and ask questions. There is no pressure to be the best or to look good. No one can judge you because you are a beginner and so you are not expected to be good (not saying you won’t be, but the pressure is not there).
If you missed it, then check out my post about when to move on from beginners yoga and whether we stop ever really being a beginner:
I’ve had quite a few people message me and ask if I could recommend any beginner yoga videos online to do. So many people are busy with families or work late that they can’t get to an actual class. They shouldn’t have to miss out on the greatness of yoga so an online class is great. I realised that I had not ever done a beginners yoga video so decided it was about time to get some up!
Here is the first yoga for beginners video for you:
Let me know what you thought and how you got on.
And finally, whatever you do, always remember –
“Never compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter 20.”
